She was predeceased by: her mother Patricia Hennen (Kammermeier); and her parents-in-law, Alice Birkedal and Palmer Birkedal. She is survived by: her father Louis Hennen of Cold Spring, Minnesota; her husband Mark Birkedal of Nora Springs; her sons, Brian Birkedal (Kristina) of Osage, Scott Birkedal (Rachel) of Clear Lake and Eric Birkedal of Nora Springs; her grandchildren, Elena, JoAnna, Charlie and Carter; and her siblings, Tom Hennen (Lisa) of New Munich, Sandy Svihel (Jim) of Cold Spring, Kevin Hennen (Tracey) of Cold Spring, Lori Ihrig (Damien) of Iowa City and Kerry Youso of St. Cloud, Minnesota. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given directly to MercyOne North Iowa Hospice or to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, or to the family who will donate memorials to the entities mentioned above.
