It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roy C. Van Roekel of Orange City, Iowa, who passed away on March 28, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Milton Lee and Alice Van Roekel (Tolman); his wife Beth Colleen Schoonover; his great grandchild Joplin Renae Black; his brother Merlin "Ernie" Van Roekel; his brothers-in-law, Clark Schoonover and Bill Lagrange; and also, Fred William "Bill" and Norma Jean Schoonover (Lower).
He is survived by: his children, Richard (Alison Van Roekel) of Maumelle, Arkansas and Kourtney Howard of Des Moines; his grandchildren, Ryan "Chayse" Van Roekel of Little Rock, Emmily (Andrew Black) of Poyen, Arkansas and Will Howard of Des Moines; his great grandchildren, AnnaBeth, Zara and Bishop; his sister Laura Lagrange of Ames; and his sisters-in-law, Diana Schoonover of Des Moines and Cindy Van Roekel of Des Moines. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
