Rodney Van Roekel Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rodney Van Roekel of Orange City, Iowa, who passed away on January 23, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Roekel and Grace Van Roekel (Pals); his siblings, Gladys (Gordan Mitchell), Otto Van Roekel (Rosalie) and George Van Roekel; and his siblings-in-law, Ann Marie (Peter Van Soest) and Dennis (Mary Auwema).
He is survived by: his wife Eleanor; his children, Melinda (Daniel Van Voorst) and Troy (Rachel Van Roekel) of Orange City; his grandchildren, Cody Senn (Emma), Jaymen Senn, Nathanul Senn, Jaylie Van Roekel, Jaxon Van Roekel and Joah Van Roekel; his stepgrandson Michael Van Voorst; his great grandchild Liam Mulder; his siblings, Glenn (Audrey Van Roekel) of Coralville and Marla Mooibroek of McKinney, Texas; and his sister-in-law Jenean Mosterd of Holland, Michigan. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the First Reformed Church (420 Central Ave NW, Orange City, IA 51041). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, January 29th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
Memorials will be given to the Orange City Area Home Health and Hospice.
