With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Phyllis Vander Werff of Orange City, Iowa, born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, who passed away on August 20, 2023 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Lyle Nicholas and Ethel Bell Lovins (Uhl); her husband Matthew Vander Werff (Erin); her stepmother Mildred Lovins; her sister Marianne Czechowskyj; and her stepbrother Fred Brack.

She is survived by: her children, David (Beth Vander Werff), Kathryn (Brad Gabel) and Kristyn (Sean Howe); her grandchild Drew Vander Werff (Dana); her great grandchildren, Margaret, Mallory Vander Werff and Ellis Brower; her brother Douglas (Linda Lovins) of Zeeland, Michigan; and her siblings-in-law, John, Paulette Brack of Grand Rapids, James, Judy Brack of South Haven, Michigan and Michael Czechowskyj of Allendale, Michigan.

Memorials will be given to the Prairie Ridge Care Center in Orange City.
