She was predeceased by: her parents, Marion Kuyper and Marie Kuyper (Remmerde); her parents-in-law, Andrew and Susan Wassenaar; her grandchildren, Hanah and Amelia Spoelstra; her great grandchild Alexandra Kay Nibbelink; and her siblings, Eleanor Hooyer (Henry), Anna Mae Dykstra (Donald), Joubert Wassenaar (Nellie), Wilhelmina Gesink (Bill), Ralph Wassenaar (Nette), Alfred Wassenaar (Bernyce), Donald Wassenaar (Alyda) and Stan Wassenaar.
She is survived by: her husband James Lee Wassenaar; her daughter Carol (Alvin G. Nibbelink) of Orange City; her grandchildren, Jamie Nibbelink (Kim) and Natasha Nibbelink; her daughter Charlene Katje of San Marcos; her grandchildren, Steve Katje (Shelly), Kristi Arns (Joe), Daniel Katje (September), Angela Igoe (Liam) and David Katje; her son Leon Wassenaar (Beth) of Crofton Nebraska; her grandchildren, Christopher Wassenaar (Rachel), Jessica Sonke (Brian), Jill Peters (Derek) and Sharon (Steve Spoelstra) of Valley Center; her great grandchildren, Eric Spoelstra (Casey), Seth Spoelstra, Morgan Spoelstra (Amy) and Nick Spoelstra; her siblings, Marilyn Rensink (Wilmer) of Sioux Falls and Herb Kuyper (Kaye) of Sioux Center; her sister-in-law Kathy Wassenaar of Yucca Valley, California; and her close friends, Verlyn, Lori Westra and Arlyn Katje. She is also survived by 32 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
