It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marly De Jong of Orange City, Iowa, born in Hull, Iowa, who passed away on February 10, 2023, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Schepen and Wilhelmina "Minne" Van Schepen (Hubers); her husband Robert Wesley De Jong; her brothers, Creston "Tess" Van Schepen (Betty) and Bruce Van Schepen; and also, Jake, Marian De Jong, Glenn De Jong and Dennis "Dean" De Jong.
She is survived by: her children, Michael, Diane De Jong of Fairmont, Minnesota, Ronda, Joe Moret of Orange City, Cal of Sioux Falls, Jennifer De Jong of Sioux Falls, Jena of Sioux Falls and Brent Dorhout of Sioux Falls; her grandchildren, Ashley Wiederhoeft (Dustin), Joshua De Jong (Marissa), Jesse Moret (Emily), Jaclyn Hoekstra (Taylor), Paige Hilbrands (Tanner), Carter De Jong, Taryn De Jong, Mitchel Dorhout (Kelsey) and Emma Dorhout; her brother Tim (Joy Van Schepen) of Arnolds Park; and her sisters-in-law, Valerie Van Schepen of Hull and Brenda (Bernie Haan) of Sioux Falls. She is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; a sister.
Memorials will be given to Unity Christian High School in Orange City.
