It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leonard Krommendyk (Orange City, Iowa), born in Boyden, Iowa, who passed away on July 22, 2019, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Krommendyk and Della Krommendyk (Bouma); his children, Paul Krommendyk, Rhonda Krommendyk and Lynne (Albert Te Velde); his grandchildren, Brandon Krommendyk and Tara Krommendyk; his siblings, Bernard Krommendyk, Delmar Krommendyk, Jo Ann Hoogland and Henrietta Blacquiere; and his brothers-in-law, Simon Disselkoen, John Blacquiere, Stanley Frerichs and Col. Max Scheider.
He is survived by: his wife Lorraine De Jong; his children, Robert J. Krommendyk (Wendy) of Orange City, Barbara K. Kady of Grand Forks and Daniel B. Krommendyk (Teresa) of Sioux City; his grandchildren, Abigail Te Velde, Emily Te Velde, Jacob Krommendyk, Billy Krommendyk (Kerri), Rachel Krommendyk, Annie Krommendyk, Julie Krommendyk, John Kady, Janalle Keown (Shawn) and Sarah Horak (Nick); his stepgrandchildren, Marcia Te Velde, Mike Te Velde (Lisa) and Becky Arvilla; his siblings, Margaret Disselkoen of Zeeland, Michigan and Preston Krommendyk (Carol) of Fremont, Michigan; his siblings-in-law, Ann Krommendyk of Dexter, Iowa, Sylvia Krommendyk of Worthington, Minnesota, Marlys Frerichs of Le Mars, Carolyn Scheider of Austin, Texas and Dick Hoogland of Sioux Center; and also, Nelson and Ada De Jong. He is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren.
