Leon D. Ver Steeg Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leon D. Ver Steeg of Orange City, Iowa, who passed away on September 30, 2020 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurence J. Steeg and Sadie M. Ver Steeg (Popma); his wife Alice Thelma Bartels; his parents-in-law, Albertus and Margaret Bartels; his sister Patricia Fedders; and his siblings-in-law, Wilson "Bud" Kuiken, Eldon "Red" Beukelman and Gladys (Marvin Vermeer).
He is survived by: his children, Lora (Dave Vande Brake), Paula (Rick Achterhof), Wendy (Marc Chapman), Jana (Brad De Jong), Chad (Brenda Ver Steeg), Brent (Tracy Ver Steeg), Mary (John Swart) and Shane (Jill Ver Steeg); his siblings, Wanda Kuiken of Maurice, Irma Beukelman of Madison, Shirley (Marty Wierda) of Sioux Center, Eva (Ervin Huizenga) of Orange City, Nancy (Dave Vellinga) of Clive, Larry Ver Steeg (Jane) of Hawarden and Stan Ver Steeg of Orange City; and his siblings-in-law, Virginia (Gilbert Dietz) of Muscatine, Don Fedders of Milford and Peter Bartels (Louise) of Kirkland, Washington. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren.
