He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hartog and Anna Den Hartog (De Boer); his wife Anna Bernice Muilenburg; his stepmother Hattie Den Hartog; his daughter Joann Den Hartog; his son-in-law Paul Truesdell; his great grandchild Zachariah Wennerstrom; his siblings, Angeline Zwagerman (John), Genevieve Van Kooten (Jerome), Luella Grotenhuis (William), Alma Van Kley (Bert), Wilma Dekker (Roger), Alvin Den Hartog (Alvina), Francis Den Hartog (Ada), Richard Den Hartog (Anna), Howard Den Hartog (Jennie) and Rev. Donald Den Hartog; and his brother-in-law Robert Muilenburg.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara Ann Truesdell of Hospers, John Gregory Den Hartog (Jeanne) of Hospers and Julie Kay Henrich (Jerry) of Spirit Lake; his grandchildren, Tom Truesdell (Carrie), Tim Truesdell (Molly), Tyler Truesdell (Lindsay Anderson), Tracy Rozeboom (Austin), Jantina Wennerstrom, Christine Koerselman (Dave), Greg Den Hartog (Bria), Allison Adams (Nick), Susan Henrich, Joe Henrich (Kinsie) and Jenn Eller (Jim); his sister Wanda Johnson (Bill) of Dassel, Minnesota; and his siblings-in-law, Audrey Den Hartog of Orange City, Marlene De Geest (Gary) of Atlantic, Judith Muilenburg of Seattle, Washington and Bill Muilenburg (Shirley) of Orange City. He is also survived by 28 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
