He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bemmel and Gertrude Van Bemmel (De Jong); his wife Thelma Grace Van Holland; his son-in-law Kevin; and his siblings-in-law, Elsie (Pat Tiemeyer), Garret Van Holland, John Van Holland (Geri), Gilbert Van Holland (Arlene) and Don Pluim.
He is survived by: his children, Karen (Mike Bosma), Lora (Todd Puttmann) and Jeff (Wanda Van Bemmel); his grandchildren, Matthew Bosma (Kristina), Jacob Bosma (April), Lucas Bosma, Samuel Bosma (Candie Cueva), Kellie (Jordan Menning), Jessica (Travis Feekes), Rebecca (Jason Goslinga), Ethan Van Bemmel and Alex Van Bemmel; and his sister Jennie Pluim of Hull. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren.
Memorials will be given to the Redeemer United Reformed Church or the Orange City Area Home Health and Hospice.
