It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harold J. Vander Laan of Orange City, Iowa, who passed away on February 27, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Laan and Stella Vander Laan (Vander Maten); his wife Muriel Van Binsbergen; his sons, Lyle Lee Vander Laan, Philip Vander Laan and David Vander Laan; and his siblings, Herman Vander Laan, Louis "Luke" Vander Laan (Etta), Marion "Bud" Vander Laan (Dorthena), Clarence Vander Laan and Lorena (Marion).
He is survived by: his daughter Rebecca (Martin Koster) of Morrison, Illinois; his daughter-in-law Lori Hibma of Hartley; his grandchildren, Johanna Vander Laan (Ryan McCort), Abby Vander Laan, Seth Vander Laan (April) and Erik Vander Laan; and his siblings-in-law, Lena Vander Laan of Orange City, Fran Vermeer (Wayne) of Sioux Center, Warren Van Binsbergen (Ruth) of Montevideo and Howard Van Binsbergen (Mary) of Owatonna, Minnesota..
Memorials will be given to Northwestern College and Midwest Honor Flight.
