We are sad to announce that on October 19, 2019, at the age of 91, Gilbert Schelling (Orange City, Iowa) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rochus Schelling and Jennie Schelling (Harskamp); his wife Wilma Vander Schaaf; his siblings, Cornelius "Case" Schelling (Gertrude), Alida Ymker (Edward) and Emma Roskam (Gerrit); his brothers-in-law, Klaas Knibbe, Cornie Zomer and Herman Zomer; and his siblings, Jan, Fredrika and William.
He is survived by: his children, Shirley Den Hoed (Abe) of Hull, IA, Robert Schelling (Sharon) of Sioux Center, IA, Harlan Schelling (Jane) of Orange City, IA, Lois Haan (Enno) of Sioux Center, IA, Marvin Schelling (Kathy) of Orange City, IA and Karen Kuiken (Bud) of Hartford, SD; and his siblings, John R. Schelling (LaVonne) of Sioux Center, IA, Henrietta Knibbe of Sioux Center, IA, Jeane Zomer of Rock Valley, IA and Joane Zomer of Sioux Center, IA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other extended family.
The Gilbert Schelling family prefer memorials be directed to the Netherlands Reformed Christian School.
