Geraldine Ekdom Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Geraldine Ekdom of Orange City, Iowa, who passed away on February 28, 2021, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Dick Cook and Mae De Cook (Muilenburg); her husband Stephen Adrian Ekdom; her sisters, Mary Ann De Cook and Gertrude (Alvin Van Berkum); her niece Glenda Van Berkum; and her siblings-in-law, Wayne Ekdom, Adrian Ekdom and Chris Ekdom.

She is survived by: her son Barry Ekdom (Rebecca Arbogast) of Washington, D. C.; her grandchildren, Noah and Claire; her children, Barbara Reece (Mark) of Des Moines and Joe Spradling (Nicole); her grandchildren, Isabel, Tyler, Eliana and Brenda Hartig (Richard) of Dubuque; her great grandchildren, Charlie Hartig (Katie) and Wesley Hartig (Allie); her siblings-in-law, Don Ekdom of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Irene Ekdom of Sioux Falls and Marie Ekdom of Pipestone, Minnesota; her nephew Doug (Linda Van Berkum) of Orange City; and also, Albert, Mathilda, Nora and James.
