It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Cornelius Eshuis of Orange City, Iowa, born in Sioux Center, Iowa, who passed away on December 15, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mother Martha Eshuis (Van Velzen); his grandchildren, Rachel Eshuis, Greg Eshuis, Jessica Vander Windt (Cainen), Sarah Eshuis, Noah Eshuis, Levi Eshuis, Tate Van Regenmorter, Kaden Van Regenmorter, Toby Van Regenmorter, Zoe Winters, Liam Winters, Trippten Poppens, Ariana Poppens and Jim Kooima; his great grandchild Bennett Vander Windt; and his siblings, Alice Vis (Bert), Jessie Voetberg (Ben), Frieda De Haas (Marion), Anna Mae Bruinsma (Byron), Henrietta Driesen, Geraldine Koldenhoven (Ron) and Adolph Eshuis.
He is survived by: his father Adolph Eshuis; his wife Gaylene Eshuis (Bos) of Orange City; his children, Darren (Colleen Eshuis), Jarret (Cindy Eshuis), Emily (Craig Posselt) of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin and Heidi Poppens of Lennox; his granddaughter-in-law Margene; and his siblings-in-law, Dorothy Eshuis and Jim Driesen. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren; a sister.
Memorials will be given to the Orange City Area Home Health and Hospice and the June E. Nylen Cancer Center in Sioux City.
