It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carol Faye Vander Pol of Orange City, Iowa, born in Alton, Iowa, who passed away on May 31, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Sip Sipma and Catherine Sipma (Hollander); her husband Harvey Eldon Vander Pol; her son Harvey Dean Vander Pol; her granddaughter-in-law Kimberly Mouw; her siblings, Marjorie Roghair (Bill) and Bill Sipma; her siblings-in-law, Arthur Vander Pol (Arlene) and Gertrude De Graaf (Frank); and her stepmother Arabella Spijker.
She is survived by: her children, Linda (Mike Vrieze), Shirley (Bob Mouw), Rhonda (Con Van Heuvelen), Jim (Emily Vander Pol) and Cara (Dave Mouw); her grandchildren, Todd Vander Pol, Heather Howard (Randy), Dawn Vrieze, Jennifer Vrieze (Aaron McDonald), Gina Schuetz (Mike), Rob Mouw (Kris), Benjie Van Heuvelen (Tory), Maryssa Van Heuvelen, Braden Van Heuvelen (Madison Norman), Michelle Adams (John), Michael Vander Pol (Brittany), Crisinda Tooker (Brian), Sara Morris (Tony) and Samantha Mouw (Skyler Christensen); her stepsiblings, Bob Van Roekel (Rachel) of Orange City and Shirley De Ruyter of Sioux Center; and her friends, Shirley and Art Vogel of Orange City. She is also survived by 23 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the First Reformed Church of Orange City or the Landsmeer Ridge Retirement Community.
