He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter R. Wielenga and Roelvina "Ruth" Wielenga (Cleveringa); his son-in-law Brian Van Engen; his granddaughter-in-law Lisa Van Engen; his siblings, Raymond (Joyce Wielenga), Arlene (Orville Oolman) and Peter Jr. (Sylvia Wielenga); and his brother-in-law Kenneth De Jong.
He is survived by: his wife Bev of Orange City; his children, Jan Van Engen of Willmar, Minnesota and Jay (Rosalyn Wielenga) of Orange City; his grandchildren, Jaclyn (Aaron Feltman), Tyler Van Engen (Christine), Aaron Wielenga and Leah (Charlie Mosterd); his great grandchildren, Lauren, Anna, Hudson and Jack Feltman; his grandchildren, Henry, Wesley and Lucy Van Engen; and his siblings-in-law, Eleanor De Jong and Virgil Muilenburg of Orange City. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials will be given to Northwestern College and First Reformed Church.
