He was predeceased by: his father Rodney Jahn; his grandparents, Harold, Gertrude Jahn, Robert and Marylin Looft; his brother Matthew Jahn; and his aunt Salli Harmon.

He is survived by: his mother Nanci Jahn (Looft) of Sioux Center; his wife Colene George; his sons, Evan Rodney of McNally and Nathan William of McNally; his parents-in-law, Gus and Sharon George of Ireton; his brother Kyle (Lynne Jahn); his nieces and nephews, Braden, Ella, Annika and Casen of Sioux Center; his sister Emily (Robbie Cundy); his nieces and nephews, Drew, Grant and Claire of Sioux Center; his sister-in-law Suzy Jahn; his nieces and nephews, Lynnette, Aubrianna, Elisabeth and Emeilia of Phoenix, Arizona; his sister-in-law Anna (Jason Britton) of Ireton; and his aunts and uncles, Gary, Ruth Grohs of Sioux City, Char Kramer of Tea, Robert and Diane Machmuller of Council Bluffs.

Memorials will be given to Mission Central in Mapleton and the Orphan Grain Train.
