He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Martin Belt, Sr. and Delores June (Pickering); and his daughter Kelly. He is survived by: his wife Karen Belt (Hopkins) of Onawa, Iowa; his sons, Adam Belt (Isie) of Sioux City, Paul Belt (Laura) of Corydon and John Belt of Onawa, Iowa; his grandchildren, Dillan Belt, Brenda Arrington, Adien Belt, Riliegh Belt and Kaleb Belt; his great grandchild Ava Belt; and his sister Deb Parks (Tom) of Boonville, MO. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
