He is survived by: his children, Kami Nelson (Larry Barnes) of Aurora, CO and Denny Nelson of Sioux City, IA; his stepdaughter Rebecca "Becky" (Steve Purcell) of Urbandale, IA; his grandchildren, Amber, Alec Nelson, Brandon, Shawn Davis, Garrett and Grant Purcell; his great grandchildren, Kalen and Bristol; and his siblings, Opal Scoggins, Paula Rose (Chuck) of Hornick, IA, Sally Hunter (Gary) of Sloan, IA, Tena Hinkel (Larry) of Mapleton, IA, Pamela Wiechman of Corning, Iowa, Donnie of St. Paul, MN, Ed of Hornick, Robert (Deb) of Hornick, Tim (Judith) of Sioux Falls, S. D. and Thomas of Venice, Italy. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held during the spring once vaccines and Covid can allow large gatherings, further details will be announced.
