He was predeceased by: his wife Kathy; and his parents, Dolores and Paul. He is survived by: his daughters, Kristen Friedrichs (Lauren) and Kassie Bercik (Ross) of Waterloo, Iowa; and his siblings, Stephen Metz of Altoona, Mark Metz of Des Moines, John Metz of Des Moines, Kevin Metz of Des Moines, Iowa and Mary Lou MacLaird of Chariton, Iowa.
