With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Walter Raymond Graesch of Oelwein, Iowa, who passed away on September 5, 2020 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Jasper and Leta Lucille Graesch (Starr); his wife Alice Trower; and his siblings, Florence, Robert, Floyd and Russell.

He is survived by: his children, Allan Graesch (Judy) and Marcia Hughson (Dann) of Sumner; his grandchildren, Dr. Danielle Nelson (Michael) of Lake Oswego, Dustin Hughson (Dana) of Grundy Center, Dillon Hughson of Sumner, Matthew Graesch (Julie) of Ames and Brad Turvey of Des Moines; his sisters, Jean Hill of Oelwein and Helen Trower of Waterloo; and his sister-in-law Dorothy Graesch of Tulsa, Oklahoma.. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.

Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing will be required. Those in attendance are asked to wear a mask inside the funeral home and church and outside where social distancing cannot be achieved.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in his name to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
