It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vidal Mendez of Oelwein, Iowa, who passed away on June 3, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Mendez and Juana Mendez (Rodriguez); his wife Shirley Stauffer; and his daughter Patricia Mendez. He is survived by: his sons, Tom Mendez (Connie) of Shakopee, MN and Jim Mendez (Vickie) of Oelwein; his grandchildren, Nick, Hannah, Amanda, Zac, Marisa and Madison; his great grandchildren, Ariana, Abram, Ava, Maverick, Skylar and Oliver; and his siblings, Natividad Mendez of Oelwein and Bob Mendez (Pat) of Knoxville, TN.
