He was predeceased by: his parents, Uyless Abbott and Opal Abbott (Eckert); and his brother Vern Abbott. He is survived by: his wife Delma Abbott (Saathoff); his children, Richard Abbott (Cindy) and Donna King (Kirk); his grandchild Alyse Steffen Riebl; his daughters, Stella Abbott and Kacey Abbott; his siblings, Daryl Abbott (Bev) and Pearl Spore (Don); and his siblings-in-law, Betty Damon of Oelwein, Becky Saathoff of Oelwein, Bernice Keegan (Dick) of Arizona, Marie Adams (Jim), Judy Adams (George) of Clinton and George Saathoff (Donna) of Oelwein.
