He is survived by: his significant other Janet Foster; his children, James of Waterloo, IA, Richard of Longmont, CO, Paul, Jeanne Garnier of Chandler, AZ, Ronda of Chandler, AZ and Mary Kay Brandt (Matthew) of Cedar Rapids, IA; his grandchildren, Michael Kinney, Nic, Nathan, Landon Troupe, Peter, Stephen, Joseph and Rachel Brandt; his great grandchild Taavi Troupe; his sisters-in-law, Mary Minkel (Richard) and Colette Foster; and his aunt Mary Lockherd.
He was a member of several service groups: Elks, Knights of Columbus, Boy Scouts of America, American Legion, VFW, Birthright, Cursillo, Lions Foundation for the Blind, Columbus High School Booster Club, PTOS (Preserving The Old Stuff).
