Loretta M. Smith Obituary

We are sad to announce that on September 12, 2020, at the age of 91, Loretta M. Smith of Oelwein, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Walker and Gertrude Mae Walker (Cannon); her husband Hubert John Smith; her sons, David John Smith and Daniel Joseph Smith; her grandchildren, Carissa Lee Smith and Joshua Smith; and her siblings, JoAnn, Edith Walker, Gert Brady, Blanche Millard, Ruth Finders, Betty Strempke, Helen Cowell, Shirley Stockwell, John, Joseph, Robert, Russell and James Walker.

She is survived by: her daughters, Robin Rosenstiel (Bill) of North Mankato, Linda Davis (Larry) of Hudson and Lori Suckow (Rick) of Oelwein; her daughters-in-law, Mary Jo Hegarty (Jerry) of Oelwein and Sharon Smith of Denver; her grandchildren, Chad Rosenstiel (Megan), Ryan Rosenstiel, Eric Rosenstiel, Billie Jo, Brooke Foley (Spencer), Jacob Davis (Vanessa), Lindsay Schultz (Logan), Jon Davis (Christina), Brandon Smith (Megan), Elizabeth Steege (Joel), Danielle Bergmeier (Steven), Kelly Koch (Colin), Brett Suckow (Allysan) and Drew Suckow; her granddaughter-in-law Jennifer Smith; her sister Florence Temple of Urbana, Illinois; and her siblings-in-law, Elaine Walker of Oelwein, Opal Smith of Independence and Wayne Stockwell of Montana. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing will be required. Those in attendance are asked to wear a mask inside the funeral home and church.

Memorials may be directed in her name to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein.
