It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Jean R. Smith of Oelwein, Iowa, born in Fayette, Iowa, who passed away on June 21, 2020, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Fauser and Hazel Fauser (Ware); her spouse Merle Otis Smith; her son Dennis Smith; her granddaughter Dr. Dawn Smith; and her siblings, Arthur Fauser, Max Fauser, Ernie Fauser, Grover Fauser, Duane Fauser, Marjorie Simpson, Arlene Robinson and Patsy McClain.
She is survived by: her son Dana Smith (Diann) of Oelwein; her grandsons, Ian Smith (Angie) of Washington, Cody Smith (Michelle) of Washington, Dustin Smith of Brooklyn Park and Derek Smith of Oelwein; her great grandchildren, Pheonix Smith, Domenik Smith, Alexander Smith, Darrin Smith and William Smith; and her siblings-in-law, Virgil Mc Clain of Oelwein and Donna Fauser of Oelwein.
Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing will be required.
Memorials may be directed in her name to Grace United Methodist Church, Oelwein.
