He is survived by: his wife Karen; his children, Becky Batterson of Waterloo and Tim Gilson (Catherine) of Oelwein; his stepchildren, Bradley Burrows, Jeffery Burrows (Jill) and Kelly Bourquin (Andrew); his grandchildren, Brandon, Beau, Cortney, Taylor, Zack, Jacob, Graciela, Louis, Nolan, Trevor and Kyla; his brother David Gilson of Des Moines; and his sister-in-law Alyce Hilgerson (Dean). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
