He was predeceased by: his parents, William DeHaven and Wanda DeHaven (Hood). He is survived by: his brother Dave DeHaven (Char); his nephew Jeff DeHaven (Destiny); his close friend Val Green; and his grandchildren, Joel, Madison, Kennedy Ott, Hunter, Addison, Autumn, Haiden DeHaven and Avery.

Visitation was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Geilenfeld-Buehner Funeral Home (309 1st Ave NE, Oelwein, IA 50662). The military honors was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
