He was predeceased by: his parents, Leonard C. Boies and Dorothy Mae Boies (Tavener); and his brothers, Richard Boies and Paul Boies. He is survived by: his sons, Steve Boies (Karen) of Hazleton, Sean Boies (Kristin) of Cedar Rapids and Scott Boies (Brandi) of Central City; his siblings, Alan Boies (Nancy) of Fayette and Donna Armstrong of San Antonio, Texas; his close friend Jean Davison of Oelwein; and his stepdaughters, Joanne Koweil (Jay) of Waterloo, Lana Griffin (John) of LaGrande and Alane Deaton (Alan) of Boise, Idaho.. He is also survived by 7 Grandchildren; 3 Great Grandchildren.
