He was predeceased by: his parents, John "Jack" Goldsmith and Alta Goldsmith (Harvey); his brother Roger Goldsmith; his grandchildren, Aaron Woodson and Morgan Goldsmith; and his son-in-law David Austin.
He is survived by: his wife Norma Recker; his children, Debra Austin of Texas, William Goldsmith of Texas, Christopher Goldsmith of Fayette and Amy Woodson (Brent) of Fredericksburg; and his grandchildren, Matt Goldsmith, Shawna Austin, Emily Schopper, Austin Goldsmith, Ethan Woodson, Jake Woodson and Allie Woodson.
A memorial fund has been established.
