We are sad to announce that on January 14, 2022, at the age of 88, Betty Lou Benter of Oelwein, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward W. Springer and Olinda M. Springer (Hoeger); her husband Leonard Earl Benter; her grandson B. J. Hesse; her nephew Richard Benter; her parents-in-law, George and Lillian Benter; and her brother-in-law Harold Benter.

She is survived by: her children, Larry Benter (Judy) of Sauk City, Eileen Fritz (Paul) of Oelwein, Diane Franks (George) of Ames, Keith Benter (Connie) of Fredericksburg and Marcia Hillman (Joy) of Traer; and her sister-in-law Berna Deane Benter of Oelwein.

Due to the health concerns of several family members, social distancing and masks are required at the visitation and funeral.

A Memorial Fund has been established.
