He is survived by: his wife Karen Hemer of Odebolt, IA; his children, Jory Hemer (Susan) of Odebolt, IA, Jill Lange (Alan) of Winterset, IA, Jeana Arbegast (Jared) of Sheffield, IA, Jon Hemer of Lake View, IA and Jeremy Hemer (Morgan) of Norwalk, IA; his grandchildren, Jarel Arbegast (Cailey), Rafe Arbegast, Zach Hemer, Xander Hemer, Emmett Hemer, BentLee Hemer, Jaeger Hemer, Jacee Nelson (Cody), Raegan Hanson (Blaine), Halle Hemer, Karter Hemer and Stella Hemer; his great grandchildren, Piper Nelson and Alvera Hanson; his siblings, Ann Onnen (Bernie) of Schaller, IA, Joe Hemer (Eileen) of Urbandale, IA, Peg Anderson (Garry) of Sierra Vista, AZ, Jan Schug (Charles) of Ida Grove, IA, Jay Hemer (Sue) of Arthur, IA, Kris Schroeder (Rick) of Odebolt, IA, Don Hemer (Tami) of Arthur, IA, Carl Hemer (Roxie) of Odebolt, IA, Bonnie Hoefling of Sioux City, IA, Dave Hemer (Diane) of Arthur, IA and Jean Ludwig (Hagen) of Breda, IA; and his siblings-in-law, Brad Aschinger of Wall Lake, IA, Rodney Einspahr (Joy) of Memphis, TN, Dean Einspahr of Paraguay and Ellen Maxie (Rommie) of Houston, TX. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
He made many bean-bag toss boards for friends and family and was always sure to donate sets to the local Pheasants Forever Banquet every year.
