In loving memory of Joan K. Thayer of Odebolt, Iowa, born in Ida Grove, Iowa, who departed this world on October 7, 2024 at the age of 81. She was predeceased by: her parents, Bill Frey and Florence Frey; her parents-in-law, Bernie and Marjorie Thayer; and her brother-in-law Butch Hemphill.
She is survived by: her husband Richard Thayer of Odebolt, IA; her daughters, Kristie Spotts (Steve) of Sac City, IA and Kathy Erickson (Corie) of Humboldt, IA; her grandchildren, Stephanie Ozinga (Mike) of Ames, IA, Ryan Spotts (Blair) of Altoona, IA and Lauren Erickson of Ames, IA; her great grandchildren, Jaelynn, Breckynn Ozinga, Anna and Noah Spotts; her sister Judy Hemphill of Odebolt, IA; and her brother-in-law Roger Thayer (Ginny) of Lake View, IA. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
IN LIEU OF FLOWERS the family will be donating monetary donations to the United Methodist Church as well as the Odebolt Fire Department in Joan's memory.
