Gerald H. Gronau Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald H. Gronau of Odebolt, Iowa, born in Denison, Iowa, who passed away on May 3, 2021, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert L. Gronau and Virginia "Boots" Gronau (Sandstrom); his brother Abe (Lynne); his parents-in-law, Art and Annabelle Hare; his nephew Scott Gronau; and his brothers-in-law, Lyle Kropf, Gerald Hare and Richard Hare (Shirley).

He is survived by: his former wife Barbara Ann Hare; his wife Barb Gronau of Odebolt, IA; his children, Terri Ullrich (Jeff) of Ida Grove, IA, Crystal Gronau of Storm Lake, IA and Keith Gronau (Karen) of Aurora, CO; his grandchildren, Drew Ullrich (Krista), Danielle Bushong (Blake), Coy Clark, Alicia Tjelmeland (Tyler), Abby Gronau, Kate Gronau and Jay Gronau; his great grandchildren, Aria Ullrich, Claire, Drake, Kate Tjelmeland and Bushong; his sisters, Jean Kropf of Kiron, IA and Jane Gronau of Kiron, IA; and his siblings-in-law, Larry Hare (Dianne) of Battle Creek, IA and Colleen Hare (Larry Garland) of Venice, FL. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, masks and social distancing are encouraged.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jerry's name can be made to the Odebolt Fire Department, Odebolt Community Center or Trinity Lutheran Church-Odebolt, Iowa.
