He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Hoekstra and Sadie Hoekstra (Bosma); his birth mother Orvillene Berg; and his sisters, Beth Pranger and Sharon Mousel.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Memmelaar; his sons, Joel Andrew of Omaha, NE and Justin Rene' of Minneapolis, MN; his siblings, Larry Hoekstra (Samantha) of Ocheyedan, IA and Gretta Nomansen (Duane) of Canistota, SD; his sisters-in-law, Betty Whitson of Ottumwa, IA and Linda Vos (Keith) of Boerne, TX; his grandchildren, Natalie, Caleb, Adrianna and Ethan Carlson of Batesburg, SC; and his sisters, Marilyn Lauer (Dick) of St. Paul, MN and Pearlene Martenson of Bellevue, NE. He is also survived by many extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial may be directed to the Jesus Film or Samaritan's Purse in memory of Robert Hoekstra.
