With solemn reverence, we commemorate Bertha Runia of Ocheyedan, Iowa, whose life came to an end on January 23, 2025 at the age of 92, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Tom Feenstra and Clara Feenstra (Soodsma); her parents-in-law, Grace and Cornelius Runia; her sister Lois; and her siblings-in-law, Ervin Wolfswinkel, Gertrude (Willliam Greenfield), Elmer Hibma, John, Joan Runia, Erwin Cuperus, Charles DeBoer, Arlan and Eunice Wiekamp.
She is survived by: her husband Peter Cornelius Runia; her siblings-in-law, Katherine, Leroy Hanenburg, Lois Cuperus, Esther DeBoer, Alvin and Mary Runia; and her children, Carla (Doug Vande Griend), Lauren (Connie Runia), Calvin (Teri Runia), Lynelle (Phil Swenson) and Corey (Jen Runia). She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Homes - Ocheyedan (855 Main St, Ocheyedan, IA 51354). A prayer will be held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Christian Reformed Church (833 5th St, Ocheyedan, IA 51354). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Ocheyedan Christian Reformed Church (833 5th St, Ocheyedan, IA 51354). A burial will be held on Tuesday, January 28th 2025 at the Ocheyedan Township Cemetery (1630-1638 Tanager Ave, Ocheyedan, IA 51354).
