She was predeceased by: her husband James "Pat" Mahoney; her parents, Marie Sutton and Elmer Sutton; and her brothers, Lester Sutton, Lyle Sutton and Henry Sutton.

She is survived by: her children, Jolonda "Jo" Mahoney, Michal Francis and James "Jamie" Mahoney (Angie Brazier) of Norway; her sisters, Helen Weller (Ralph) of Manhattan, KS and Marjorie Durkes of Topeka, KS; her grandchildren, Zach Park of Cedar Rapids, Derek Francis (Misty Lentz) of Brooklyn, Erika Francis (Ryan O'Leary) of Belle Plaine and James Mahoney (Skylyn Clark) of Hiawatha; and her great grandchildren, Lacie Rethman, Quentin O'Leary, Sydney Francis and Bayliegh Francis.
