He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund Bontty and Irene Bontty (Plucar); his brother-in-law Tom Dunlap; and his parents-in-law, Bob and Arlene Wodstrchill.
He is survived by: his wife Shelia Wodstrchill; his sons, Brad Bontty (Laura) and Craig Bontty (Lynnelle); his grandchildren, Gavin, Jackson, Austin, Oscar and Adelyn Bontty; his sister Justina Dunlap; and his siblings-in-law, Dan Wodstrchill (Pat), Sheryl Houser (Doug) and Sue Grabe (Gary). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to Camp Courageous or to the Alzheimer's Association in his name.
