He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Morton T. Phinney and Elsie V. Bitterman; his brother Doug Phinney; his wife Shirley Phinney of New Virginia, IA; his siblings, Harlan Phinney (Carol) of Mitchell, SD and Judy Kauffman (Lyle) of Aurora, CO; and his pets, Caitlyn, Maya, Dakota, Dottie, Fiesty and Millie. He was also cherished by several nieces & nephews, other relatives and many many friends.
