He was predeceased by: his parents, Obed Madson and Daisy Madson (Bjork); his brothers, David Madson and Jerald Madson; and his nephew Jason Schneider.

He is survived by: his daughter Tristan Wiechmann (Dan) of Mankato, Minnesota; his grandsons, Glenn, Dean, Wayne and Lon; his siblings, Judith Gasner (Randy) of Owatonna, Barbara Schneider (Terry) of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota, Orlyn Madson of Owatonna, Bruce Madson (Marsha) of Ellendale and Merlyn Madson; and his sister-in-law Marjorie Madson of Owatonna, Minnesota. He is also survived by many niece and nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
