He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Norma Groe (Madson) and Orlin Groe; his wife Mary Lou Nelson; his sons, Gerald, Matthew and James Groe; his children-in-law, Eric Fishback and Tina; his grandchildren, Michael, Olly, Wyatt and Nathan; and his daughter Rebecca. He was also cherished by siblings; as well as extended family members and numerous friends.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family asks that memorials be directed to the Sion Lutheran Cemetery.
