She was predeceased by: her parents, William Arett and Ethel Arett (Cunningham); her husband Herbert "Herb" B. Barber; her siblings, William, Kenneth Arett, Lawrence Arrett, Jurine Johnson, Kathleen Olson and Mabel Reichow; and her siblings-in-law, Evalyn Arrett (Barber), Roland Johnson, Al Reichow, Donald Olson and Lowell Brown.

She is survived by: her children, Barbara (Arthur), Jack Barber (Margie) of Glenville, MN, Paul Barber (Joan) of Northwood and Steve Barber (Kathy) of Mason City; and her siblings, Jerome Arett (Karen) of Green Bay, WI, Libby Maternowski (Darrell) and Marlene Brown of Minneapolis. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and countless other family members and special friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church.
