He is survived by: his wife Leila; his daughters, Sandra Hess (Gary), Lori Kendall (Gary Goeman), Julie Grotnes (Matt) and Kari Johnson (Jeff); his grandchildren, Alex Hess, Abby Prentice (Sam), Emily Nelson (Nick), Elsa Kendall, Sam Grotnes, Ben Grotnes, Tyler Johnson and Drew Johnson; and his great grandchild Hazel Nelson.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest that memorial contributions be made to the First Lutheran Church in Northwood, or to the music department at Luther College,@ http://www.luther.edu . Burial will be held at a later date in the Sunset Rest Cemetery in Northwood.
