He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Brown and Minerva Brown (Nuss); and his in-laws, Howard and Avril Cooper. He is survived by: his wife Linda Cooper; his sons, Christopher (West Des Moines) and William of Miami, FL; his siblings, Dave Brown (Judy), Judy Brown of Rosemount, MN and Joyce Kuethe (Jeff) of Marion, IA.; and his nieces and nephews, Cole Kuethe (Erin) of Marion, Trent Kuethe (Trinity) of Greenville, SC, Lauren Kuethe of Marion, Shane Pliskin (Janet) of San Diego, CA and Debbie Hommer (Brent) of Norwalk, IA.

Visitation was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church (123 E Market St, Iowa City, IA 52245). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Church Parish Hall (123 E Market St, Iowa City, IA 52245).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Technology Services at Gloria Dei, Fur Fun Rescue in Lisbon Iowa, or Electronic Frontier Foundation.
