He is survived by: his wife Maryann Orey; his children, Darrell Jr. (Gail), Robin Mast (Rollin) and Dwayne (Jamie); his stepsons, Larry Orey, John Orey (Linda), Cliff Orey and Everett Orey; his son-in-law Leo Kron; his grandchildren, Jeremy (Carrie), Jessica (Tyler), Jennifer (Ian), Austin, Jason, Kennett, Jesse, Brandon, Amber, Brandy, Larry, Chelsea, Andrew, Ruby and Maggie; his great grandchildren, Savannah and Preston; and his siblings, Carroll Roberts, Laurel Roberts (Janet), Jelene McCain (Bob) and Doyal Roberts (Karen).
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in his memory.
