She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Strothman and Doris Strothman (Maxwell); her husband Wilbur Young; her brothers, Max Strothman (Jeanne) and Fred Strothman; and her siblings-in-law, Jerry Strothman and Emmett Messer.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Young (Linda), Barbara Meade and Kay Mohling (Gene); her grandchildren, Justin Young, Brandon Young, Rachel Meade, Katherine Ciecior, Caroline Litterer and Nicholas Mohling; her siblings, Carol Messer, Charlene Larson (Randy) and John Strothman; and her sister-in-law Marilyn Strothman. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to support the First United Methodist Church of North Liberty, Johnson County 4-H programs, North Liberty Community Pantry, Bird House Hospice Home of Johnson County, and Iowa City Hospice.
