It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Melvin Banes (North English, Iowa), who passed away on December 11, 2022, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Jackson and Lulu Banes (Thomas); and his wife Louise Faye Van Fleet. He is survived by: his children, Karen Westfall (Harley) of Riverside, Ronald Banes (Barbara) of North English, Jeffrey Banes (Lori) of Williamsburg and Kevin Banes (Shari) of North English; his grandchildren, Tracy Folkedahl (Brad), Cindy Kruse (Joe), Steven Banes (Annie), Brad Westfall (Kris), Deb Stewart (Eric), Rod Westfall (Phyllis), Jess O'Rourke (Greg), Amanda Clubb (Travis), Darin Banes, Beth Banes, Alex Banes (Paige) and Cole Banes; and his brother John Banes (Francine) of Fairfax. He is also survived by twenty six great grandchildren; ten great, great grandchildren.
