He was predeceased by: his parents, John Jr. Wendt and Louise Wendt (Morphew); his brother Jimmy Wendt; and his former wife Barbro Wendt. He is survived by: his wife Jackie (Klotzbach); his son Scott Wendt (Brenda) of Indianola; and his stepchildren, Anita Larson (Dan) of Charles City, Jill Evenson of Portland, Stephanie Jennings (Tim) of Hanlontown, Lee Ann Richardson (Chadd) of Mason City, Jon Tyler Ewing of Rockford and Alison Pinto (Keith) of Pinole, CA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; many beloved great-grandchildren; as well as countless friends and extended family.
In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be directed to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA), St. Luke's Lutheran Church, or First Presbyterian Church.
