He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Kooistra and Lela Kooistra of Jasper County, IA.. He is survived by: his wife Helen Mason Kooistra of Newton; his sister Shirley Reid (Robert) of Washington, DC; his stepson Hal Kooistra Austin (Beth); his stepgrandchildren, Stephanie Chennault (Joe), Justin Kooistra (Shelly) and Nancy Cooper Bethesda, MD (Carl); his grandchildren, Lyndsay Kooistra West Linn (Marcus Kroloff) and Elise Kooistra-Sullivan (Michael Sullivan); and his great grandchildren, Sydney, Hayley, Addyson Allen, Emery Chennault, Nya, Barrett Kooistra, Daniel, Maryn Kroloff, Holden and Meara Sullivan.
All attending are asked to wear a mask. Because of Covid virus concerns, there will not be a reception following the service.
