He was loved and cherished by many people including: his mother Esther Cottrell (Handeland); his wife Lynne Cottrell of Newton; his children, Alicia Mitchell, April May Gourd, Crystal Richardson (Hank) of Bettendorf, Catfish Cottrell of Newton and Dakota Noftsger of Newton; his grandchildren, Alex, Summer, Jade, Kayden, Hope and Charlotte; his father David Cottrell of Chariton; his stepfather David Elliott of Newton; and his siblings, Tammy Thompson (Mike), Tanya Neef (Kevin), John Elliott (Nicole), Jeannie Cottrell, Amy Hall, Scott Cottrell (Carrie) and Doug Cottrell (Wendy). He was also cherished by his many nieces and nephews.
